Meta:Administrators

From WickedGov Meta-Wiki
To contact a Meta-Wiki administrator, go to Meta:Administrators/Noticeboard. For the page about administrators in general, see Administrators.

Administrators on Meta are users who have been granted the technical ability to perform certain special actions with local (protect and unprotect pages, delete and undelete pages, block and unblock users, and perform a variety of other tasks) and global (edit the title and spam blacklists) effects.

Requesting adminship edit source

Adminship may be requested at Meta:Requests for permissions. To request administrator access on Meta, candidates need to:

  • Have a user page on Meta.
  • Have a valid contact address (either a confirmed email address in preferences or a valid email address on the user page).
  • Be an active contributor on Meta (this is a subjective, not objective, measure; there is no official edit count).

Bureaucrats have the technical ability to promote users to adminship. If there are no active bureaucrats, a Steward should perform the task instead.

Involved administrators edit source

Administrators should avoid using their tools in situations where they may not be impartial. Those situations include using the tools in disputes in which they are an involved party. If the administrator is in doubt, the administrator is encouraged to ask for opinions from another user.

Removal of adminship edit source

Inactivity edit source

Any administrator who has made no edits or logged actions on Meta for 1 year should have administrative privileges removed by a Steward.

Emergencies edit source

Stewards should immediately remove permissions from any administrator account that appears to be compromised or that is engaging in blatant disruption.

Other removals edit source

Administrative privileges may also be removed based on consensus at Meta:Requests for permissions.
